Following completion of the procedure the patient is observed for a brief period of time and then released home. Patients are generally advised to return to light activities as tolerated. Pain varies from patient to patient with most experiencing mild to moderate discomfort which generally improves over one to three days. Patients are generally prescribed mild narcotic medication to be taken as needed.
